Chiang Chang “James/Jimmy” Liu (Owner Of Mei-Mei)

 Chiang Chang “James” Liu of Edison died Wednesday at the JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 66.   Born in Calcutta, India, he immigrated to the United States in New York City in 1969 before moving to Edison in 1981.   He was the owner of the Mei Mei Chinese Restaurant in Somerset for over 30 years before retiring in 2006.   He was a parishioner of the Chinese Evangelical Church in Highland Park.
               He was predeceased by his brother, Steven Liu in 1992; and sister, Yu Chin Liu in 1982.
               Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Qwee Lan Liu; daughters and son-in-law, Shirley & Eric Monas of Rockwall, Texas, and Bonnie Liu of Edison; brothers, Kung Chang Liu of Vancouver, BC and Hung Chang Liu of Richmond Hill, Ontario; and granddaughter, Alexandra Monas.
               A Blessing will be held on Monday at 11 AM at the GOSSELIN FUNERAL HOME, 660 New Dover Road, Edison. Burial to follow in Hazel Wood Cemetery, Clark. Please obey all traffic laws if driving in this procession.  Visitation will be held on Sunday from 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
