Mr. Jack Pirone (Teacher)

January 9, 2003 Jack Pirone, Franklin educator, high school band director, 66 - A mass for Jack Pirone, 66 of Sunrise, Arizona, former Bound Brook resident, will be at 9:30 AM June 21 in St. Joseph Church, Bound Brook. Mr. Pirone, who died Sunday at home, was director of basic skills at the Franklin Park School in Franklin from 1990 until retiring in 1993. He also served as principal of the school for a year. From 1979 until 1989, he was principal of Conerly Road School in Franklin. He was band director of the Golden Warriors Marching Band at Franklin High School in Somerset from 1963 until 1973. After retiring, Mr. Pirone owned and operated Presto Music Company in Bound Brook. Born in Bound Brook, Mr. Pirone moved to Sunrise a year ago. ======== The obituary also details his education and 2 doctorate degrees and his family members who have survived him (5 sons and 6 siblings, and 5 grandchildren) but many of us remember him as the band director who made the Golden Warriors National Field marching Champions in the late '60's, which the obituary did not list. A great band leader and trumpet player as I recall, and also his son Jack. He was a great band leader. Patrick de Haan - CLASS OF 78 CHRIS MOROSOFF:Favorite Teacher Without a doubt Mr. Pirone.
