Thomas Marquis - Class Of 1969

MARQUIS, Thomas W. Thomas W. Marquis, 53, of Taunton, MA, passed away Sunday, (April 17, 2005) while at Tuft's New England Medical Center in Boston. Tom was born in Connellsville, PA and was the son of the late Marilene (Means) Marquis and William P. Marquis of Homasassa, FL. During his life, Tom gave us the gift of three beautiful children, Kristen Marquis of Tempe, AZ, Cori Marquis of Mesa, AZ and Dylan Marquis of Avon. He is survived by his sister, Cathy Marquis of Denville, NJ and loving former wife Michele Marquis of Avon. Tom spent nearly 30 years in the newspaper industry working at six different newspaper companies, contributing to both Advertising and Circulation. Ten of those years were with The Hartford Courant and the Stamford Advocate/Greenwich Times in Stamford. During that time, he was on the Board of Directors for the New England Newspaper Circulation Association and Connecticut Special Olympics. Later in his career in California he resided as President of the California Newspaper Advertising Executive Association. Tom was an avid golfer who loved professional sports and enjoyed the art of cooking. He has touched many lives both personally and professionally and will be greatly missed by all of us. A private celebration of his life will take place on Friday, April 29. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the N.E.A.C.E. Scholarship Fund, c/o Dennis Skoglund, 22 Pomeroy Meadow Road, Unit #6, Southampton, MA 01073.

Brian Danielsen (1969)

I am both happy and sad to read these comments about Tom's passing.  Tom was a friend of mine.  I knew him in my youth up until we graduated high school together.  He was a good, decent person.  I've known about his passing for the last 18 years (now=2023), but never knew the details.  I'm glad he was able to live life.
