Sharon Lynn (Thompson) Soleberry
JACKSON - Sharon Lynn (Thompson) Soleberry was born on Sept. 10, 1967, in Middlesex Hospital, New Brunswick, N.J. to Charles and Mae Thompson. On Jan. 10, 2013, God opened his arms and whispered to her to come home. She gladly walked into his arms at the age of 45. Sharon resided in Jackson, N.J.
Sharon was raised in Somerset, N.J. and graduated from Franklyn High School. She earned her bachelor's degree from Kean University, Union, N.J. Sharon was a civic-minded person and very involved in the community.
Sharon was employed at Merrill Lynch before becoming a stay-at-home mom. That's when she discovered her true calling, teaching. She home-schooled her three children and worked diligently with the other one that was in public school. All three were excellent students when they entered school.
Sharon started her Christian journey at a very young age at Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Hightstown, N.J. She continued her journey of faith at the First Assembly of God's Church in Somerset, N.J., Christ Church in Howell, the Hope of Glory in Jackson-where Sharon served for six years as co-pastor, and currently at Calvary Lighthouse in Lakewood, N.J. where Sharon was involved in the Altar Ministry, the Intercessory Prayer Ministry, Children's Ministry, Hospitality Ministry, and a great supporter of Calvary Academy where her children attended school.
Sharon leaves to cherish her loving memory her loving husband, Christopher D. Soleberry, and four beautiful children whom she loved very dearly, Christopher (CJ), Kayla, Laura and Shadyia. She also leaves her parents, Charles and Mae, one brother, Scott (Karen), two special nephews, Christopher and Curtis Thompson, a godson, Terran Pressley Ill, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, and her special friends, Terran and Jill Pressley and Chaney McKinney who along with Sharron were called "The Four Musketeers."
Words cannot express the depth of our sorrow at her passing; we take comfort in knowing she's in a better place we know that she's resting in the bosom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the Calvary Lighthouse Church, 1133 E. Countryline Road, Lakewood, NJ 08701. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the church from 9 to 10 a.m.
Arrangements are by the D'Elia Funeral Home, Highway 70 and Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701.
