Charles F. Deak
Charles Frank Deak, 55, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at his home in Vass.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Mt. Pleasant Church in Vass, with Dr. Greg Poplin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p..m. Thursday evening at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines.
Mr. Deak was a chef at Penick Village in Southern Pines. He left a 34-year career as a mechanic to do what he loved -- cook.
Mr. Deak was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Margaret Deak, a sister, Charlotte Kozelic, and two grandsons, Christopher Cleary and Kenneth Spivey.
Mr. Deak is survived by his wife of 31 years, Peggy Deak; three daughters, Bernice Elliott and her husband, Elvis, of Vass, Denise Cleary and her husband, Junior, of Cameron, and Charlene Hales of Fayetteville; six grandchildren, Nicole, Krista and Makaylah Elliott, and Marcus, Steven and Destiny Cleary; three sisters, Brenda Zrinko of Arizona, Peggy Valleau of Pennsylvania and Barbara Gilbert of New Jersey.
