Nicholas “Nick” A. Pelino, Jr., Date of Birth : Friday, August 21st, 1964

Age 49, of Forked River, Lacey Twp., NJ, died Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at home. Born in Newark, NJ he was raised in Somerset, NJ, moving to Forked River 18 years ago.

Nick received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from St Peter’s University in Jersey City, NJ and then received his Master’s and Doctorate Degrees in Education from the University of Phoenix.

Nick was an accomplished Playwright, Director and Author, working in New York City and the Tri state area. He handled over 200 productions. His directorial credits include The Cradle will Rock, Blood Brothers, EVITA, Runaways, West Side Story, Grease, and the Hall-Mills Trial, which offered him an opportunity to write and stage a sequel to his successful play, The Final Word: The Hall-Mills Murders which toured throughout New York and New Jersey and has been optioned by two film companies for a feature treatment. He also worked on Broadway productions with Jerome Robbins and such performers as Madonna, Rita Moreno, the late Jessica Tandy and Darlene Love. His published works included Remembering Sharon, The Online Students Survival Guide, The Final Word Hall-Mills Murders, and Lizbeth of Maplecroft Lizzie Borden, after the Axe. Nick was also a Licensed Real Estate Agent.

He was predeceased by his parents Nicholas A. Sr. and Phyllis.

Nick is survived by his sister Dawn and her husband Steve Szalanczy of Bayville, NJ, a brother Vincent & sister in law Stephanie of Bayville, NJ, two nieces Valerie & Gianna, four Nephews Steve III, Vinnie Jr. Vance & Nicky and his dear friends John Heim & Darrell Corleto and special friends Bob & Doris Combs.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Sunday, February 23, 2014 from 2-4pm at The Timothy E Ryan Home for Funerals O’Connell Chapel 706 Hwy 9, Bayville, NJ.
