Cathy Lynn Schwarz Butler
Plainsboro - Cathy Butler passed away peacefully on November 9 in Plainsboro NJ surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 9, 1968 and resided in Franklin Township and South Brunswick her entire life.
She was predeceased by her father William Schwarz, Sr. and her brother Robert Schwarz. She is survived by her husband Christopher and her children Reina, Ryan, Benjamin and Madison. She is also survived by her mother Phyllis, brothers William, Jr. (Christine), Kenneth (Susan), and Richard (Lovey), sister Alonna (Michael) Sitarik, and mother-in-law Barbara Butler as well as a large extended family including 22 nieces and nephews.
Cathy graduated from Franklin High School where she played softball and performed in the marching band and guitar ensemble. She graduated from Rider University and was employed at Bloomberg for nearly 30 years.
She was a strong but gentle person who gave freely of her time and love. She enjoyed camping, baking, working on Project Graduation, traveling, and taking trips to Disney. However, her favorite pastime was spending time with her family. She was an avid team supporter for her children's athletic and scouting activities, often serving as a photographer at their events. She was extremely active in South Brunswick High School programs, served as a Girl Scout leader, and was president of the Little Rocky Hill Fire Co. Auxiliary.
In addition to her family, Cathy had a loyal circle of friends who will miss her dearly.
Family and friends may call Wednesday, November 14 from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm at the M.J. Murphy Funeral Home, 616 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction. Services will be held Thursday at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Middlebush.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
