Life

my life is guarded
my pain is standard,
because i have never seen you
and knowing i will never see you.
has made me strong
i bled pain which in turn
bled the weakness out of me.
so in a way i thank you,
for making my heart iron
i only wish for greater understanding
of my being.
my reason, to wake from the darkness,
that has consumed so many
with my limited understanding
I only hope to serve the helpless.
