Our Lord blessed me when He placed Dr. Blaustein into my life at that time. Who knows what I would have become and I certainly would never had gone to college.
My regret is that I never tracked him down to personally thank him.
Thank you, Dr. Blaustein!

Marvin I did not expect my attentive brother to leave me Your April birthday will be sent from my thoughts Dad taught you wrestling so you were able to ward off bullying from USA boys when you was in the army 1945 Then I was 12. You gave me a tennis racket I hit tennis balls hard to bring you home As a medic and Swimmer (you was on the high school swimming team) on a ship in the Pacific

A pulley brought them aboard ship. Loran, predecessor of sonar located the planes In 1985 you were able to change mom's colostomy bag nightly so she was fresh in the morning

Lee was our cross-the-street neighbor. Although our contacts were infrequent, he was always friendly and helpful. We're sad to hear of his passing, and we'll miss him.

I had the pleasure of working with Lee when I first started Brookdale in the late 1980's, he was always a happy, helpful and kindhearted person, when he left the Long Branch office I would occasionally see him on the Lincroft campus and he always remembered who I was.
Rest in Peace my friend.
To the family: may you find peace in knowing that Lee is resting well.
Sincerely

Rest In Peace Mr. Blaustein...your enthusiasm for your job during my years at FHS were contagious. I loved your idea when you had our lockers painted bright colors instead of standard beige. You were hands on and very kind. May you rest with the angles sir. And lastly, thank you for your service to this country.

I was sad to hear yesterday that Mr. Blaustein, the first principal of The New Junior High in Piscataway (as Schor was once known, in September of 1970, before the building was even completed), has passed away.
Many of the original crew of that new junior high remember him well, and we have regaled some of the younger staff with stories about him over the years. He was our principal for only five years, but he left his mark on us
I was sad to hear yesterday that Mr. Blaustein, the first principal of The New Junior High in Piscataway (as Schor was once known, in September of 1970, before the building was even completed), has passed away.
Many of the original crew of that new junior high remember him well, and we have regaled some of the younger staff with stories about him over the years. He was our principal for only five years, but he left his mark on us and helped make us the cohesive family we still are today. A forward-thinking, bold, energetic, unique, sometimes intimidating man, he instilled in us a sense that we owed it to each other and to those who would later come up in our ranks to always stick together and to take every single child from where he or she started and go forward, not to some number at the top of the test paper, but to somewhere that child did not believe he or she could go. He knew the best way to make a faculty strong was to make them see each as more than just colleagues, that we should always have each other's backs and look to each other for guidance. He never hung any of us out to dry to placate parents, though he did let us know behind closed doors afterward how we could have avoided such confrontations beforehand or why we were absolutely not 100% in the right. He was a true Principal Teacher, knowing how to guide neophytes to the place he knew they could go and also being able to actually demonstrate that journey to said neophyte himself. He remained The Teacher at heart and not The Administrator.
I have thought of him often over the years and even ran into to him once in a while. The last time was at a colleague's retirement dinner last February at Carpaccio Restaurant in Middlesex, where for years he and his wife Adrienne used to dine with old friends at 6 pm every Friday night. I grabbed a couple of other retirees from the Schor group, and we went over to the dining room to chat with him. He remembered every one of us.
I will not forget him.

To the Blaustein family, I am so sorry for your loss.
I was a student at Quibbletown Jr High when Mr Blaustein was the principal and remember him well. In an age when things were pretty crazy, he was the pillar of strength and guidance. He touched so many lives and did such amazing work in his field. The world lost a great man who will never be forgotten.
May he rest in peace.

Mr. Blaustein was my Principal at FHS and was the nicest, most caring, educator I have ever known. He kept us all in line during some very tough times and still managed to show us the way. I spent many days in the "principal's office" and honestly it became one of the most inspiring places to be. I wish there where more like him today...being a Mom now I have to say, I have never met a single one that even comes close. Thanks Mr. Blaustein, for always showing me the way...
