Obituary of Pelham Stewart

Pelham J Stewart, 50, of Franklin Park died Friday, January 2, 2015 at home. Born in New Brunswick, he was a lifelong Franklin Park resident. Pelham was the owner-operator of The Sound System in Franklin Park for over 27 years. He was a life member of the Franklin Park Fire Company and served as Fire Commissioner for District 2 for over 25 years. Son of the late Pelham S. and Gloria (Bongiovanni) Stewart, he is survived by a sister Alice Banko, nieces, nephews and several beloved friends. The funeral will be held 9:00 am on Thursday, January 8, 2015 from the M.J. Murphy Funeral Home 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Monmouth Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am, St. Augustine of Canterbury Church 45 Henderson Road at New Road, Kendall Park. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Plains Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
