HAINES, Carolyn (Brennan) Age 39, of Holly Springs, died on Saturday, February 6, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully at Duke University Hospital with her family by her side. Carolyn was born in Elizabeth, NJ on August 20th, 1970 to William and Mary Ann Brennan. She received her undergraduate degree from Providence College in 1992. In 1994, she received her Masters Degree from the College of New Jersey and her Doctorate from the University of Georgia in 2000. After marrying in 2001, she and her husband Stephen resided in Massachusetts where Carolyn was a professor at Boston University and practiced as a private psychologist. Upon relocating to North Carolina in the spring of 2007, she continued in private practice. She is survived by her husband Stephen and two daughters Olivia and Isabell; her father and mother; Bill and Mary Ann Brennan (Bridgewater, NJ); Darlene and Jim Haines (Port St. Lucie, FL); Diane and Chuck Brock (Olive Branch, MS); MaryBeth and Paul Madonia (Hudson, OH); Eric and Carolyn Haines (St. Augustine, FL); and seven nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening between 6:00 and 8:00 PM at the Apex Memorial Funeral Home. A memorial service will also be held at Apex Funeral Home on Wednesday at 11:00 AM followed by a luncheon at the Devils Ridge Golf Club. Deepest gratitude is extended by the family to the many friends and neighbors that supported Mrs. Haines during her battle.
