In Memory

Chris Scheiblich

Chris Scheiblich died in Sutter General Hospital in Sacramento on Oct. 30, 2011, after a difficult, but brief, battle with cancer.

Chris graduated from St. Francis Solano School in 1965 and from Sonoma Valley High School in 1969. He worked as a chef at Sugar & Spice in Boyes Hot Springs then a firefighter for the Valley of the Moon Fire Department. Moving to the Gold Country more than 35 years ago, he worked as a chef at the Hotel Ione, security patrol at Lake Pardee, opened an antique store and most recently settled into the assistant managers position at the Goldstrike Village Mobile Home Park in San Andreas. Chris met the love of his life, Nadine, and they married in 2004. Their life together in San Andreas was cut way too short eight years later by cancer. Knowing no strangers, Chris was admired and loved by everyone who crossed his path. He had a tremendous sense of humor and was a caretaker at heart, never turning his back on anyone in need.

Chris is survived by his wife, Nadine Scheiblich; his daughter, Sondra Scheiblich; and his granddaughters, Deana and Christina, of Lodi; his brothers, Patrick Scheiblich and wife, Linda, of Sonoma; Jon Scheiblich and wife, Kathy, of Bakersfield; Marc Dailey, of Kenwood; and Stan Dailey and wife, Sally, of Tennessee; his sister, Melania Mahoney, of Sonoma; his daughter-in-law, Erica, and her husband, Vince Fischer, and grandson, Quaide of Glencoe; son-in-law, William Wright and wife, Pam, of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughter-in-law, Angela Wright, of Stockton and her daughters, Sarah and Amanda; and great-grandson, Fletcher; and his mother-in-law, Zelda Higgins, of Anderson. Chris will be deeply missed by his wife, family and friends and his special and very close co-worker, Doris Devlin.
