After high school graduation, he attended Grand Rapids Junior College. He worked with his father in the family business, "Don's Liquor Mart" on Ireland Road.
Later he sold cars at several area dealerships. Enjoyed golf and playing Euchre or Cribbage. Enjoyed music and taught himself to play the xylophone, guitar, drums and piano. He played these instruements in "garage bands."
His parents, Donald Husvar and Rachel Walker-Husvar preceded him in death. He was survived by his sister Cheryl Husvar-Speheger, a niece and nephew.
