Annelies (Annie) I. Parsons, age 92, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024, at the Center for Hospice in Mishawaka. She was born on September 28, 1932, in South Bend, IN, to the late Julius and Anna (Schulz) Petzke.
Annie is survived by her loving children, Linda Sarber, Doug Parsons (Cheri), and James Parsons (Sally) along with her cherished grandchildren, Kevin, Jeffrey, Joshua, and Mellissa, and her adored great-grandchildren, Miles, Oliver, Fauna, Rowan, Cedar, Sophia, Kasen, and Neveah. Her sister-in-law, Georgeann Petzke, also remains to honor Annelies's memory.
Annie was preceded in death by her beloved husband LaMar Parsons, her parents, her sister Elfrida Kuespert, stepmother, Agnes and brothers Alfred, Ernest, Gerhart Petzke and her daughter in-laws Betsy, Beth and Sue.
Annie’s professional life was marked by a successful career as a real estate agent. As an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church she taught Sunday school, served on the altar guild and was a dedicated member of the Dorcas Society. As a Riley graduate she participated in the Riley Lunch Bunch. An ardent supporter of Notre Dame football, Annie was renowned for her legendary tailgate parties, where she brought together family, friends, and fans in celebration of the game and community.
Described by those who knew her as loving, faith-filled, and kind, Annie’s legacy is one of unwavering positivity and generosity. Her sense of style and grace was evident to all who knew her. Always “put together” best described her personal style.
Annie lived a life abundant in love, faith, and kindness, touching the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit will be deeply missed but will continue to inspire.
Memorial service for Annie will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Palmer Funeral Home ~ Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46635. Family and friends may begin visiting at 5 p.m.
