Barbara Anne Pozsgai (Norris)

Barbara Anne (Pozsgai) Norris

January 18, 1941 ~ June 27, 2025

Barbara Anne Pozsgai Norris, 84, was born in South Bend, IN to Stephen and Theresa Pozsgai on January 18, 1941. She was one of 10 children, including 7 sisters and 3 brothers. She is survived by her husband Michael Norris, sister Elizabeth Delchambre and brother John Pozsgai.

Barbara married the love of her life, Michael Norris, on November 6, 1976. For nearly 49 years they were best friends, traveled together and just enjoyed each other’s company. Barbara’s only daughter, Kathy, preceded her in death.

She was a beloved Aunt to several nieces and nephews. She loved her family dearly and cherished family get-togethers, especially at Christmas. Barbara was a dear friend and trusted confidant to many.

Barbara’s professional career spanned over 40 years as an executive assistant for Mercedes Benz, Whiteford Kenworth and Shippers Dispatch. She was known for a commitment to excellence and her attention to details.

Barbara’s faith in Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of her life and was a vessel of His love to all she encountered. For over 40 years she taught children’s Sunday school, impacting countless young lives. She was known for her faithfulness and tireless commitment in preparing lessons that would help the little ones to learn to walk with Jesus.  She was also devoted the local National Day of Prayer gatherings and Bible Study Fellowship. She attended Gospel Center and Trinity Evangelical for most of her adult life.

Anyone that ever met her would agree that while her physical beauty was undeniable, it was only surpassed by the kindness within her. The only thing sweeter might be some of her famous desserts she would create for family gatherings.

Barbara enjoyed women’s Bible studies, traveling and tending to her flower garden. She could change the atmosphere of any room with her kind smile and welcoming demeanor.

While heaven has welcomed home one of God’s kindest hearts, all of us remaining here will miss her dearly, awaiting the day until we see her again.

All are welcome to her celebration of life and heavenly promotion service this Wednesday, July 2nd at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 15697 New Rd, Mishawaka, IN 46544. Public visitation will be from 10am-11am with service immediately following at 11am.  Zahoran Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.  To leave an online condolence please visit www.zahoran.com
