Connie Sue Koski (Baloun)
January 30, 1940 ~ January 13, 2026 (age 85)
Connie Sue Koski (Baloun), passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, in Mishawaka, IN. Born on January 30, 1940, in South Bend, IN, to John and Ruth (Self) Koski, Connie's life was marked by an unwavering dedication to her family, her work, and the joy of celebration.
Connie graduated from Riley High School in 1958.
Connie's devotion to her family was the cornerstone of her life. She was a cherished wife to Norm Baloun, with whom she shared a lifetime, over 65 years, of love and memories. Her role as a mom was exemplified in her nurturing of her daughter, Cari (Matthew) Woodward. Connie's love also extended to her godson, Greg DeSimone, and she held a special place in her heart for her beloved family members Kathy Yates and Michele DeSimone. Though she was preceded in death by her sister Carolyn Tesmer and cousin Marilyn DeSimone, the legacy of her love remains a guiding light for all who were part of her life.
Professionally, Connie's career was characterized by her steadfast commitment and diligent service. She retired in 2001 after many years as a secretary and circuit court clerk for St. Joseph County. Her work ethic and involvement in her community left a lasting impression on those she worked with and served.
Connie's interests and hobbies painted a picture of a woman who embraced life's pleasures and the importance of tradition. She relished trips to the casino and dining out, particularly enjoying visits with her daughter in Las Vegas. Her home was a testament to her love of celebration, with decorations for every holiday and a keen eye for detail that brought joy to all who entered. Connie never missed an opportunity to commemorate birthdays and anniversaries, always sending cards to remind her loved ones that they were in her thoughts.
Perhaps most notably, Connie was a beacon of support during difficult times, always there for others with a kind word and a compassionate heart. Her loving, thoughtful, and kind nature was a comfort to many and will be deeply missed.
Connie's passing leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire those who knew her. Her life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of care, celebration, and unwavering support for her loved ones. As we bid farewell to Connie Sue Baloun, we hold on to the cherished memories and the impact she made on the lives of so many.
