SOUTH BEND - Dale J. Auer, 65, of Medco Center, formerly of 1158 Lincolnway East, died at 12:57 a.m. Saturday at the nursing home. He retired from Castleman Heating Company, Mishawaka.
He was born Jan. 25, 1925, in South Bend and has lived here all his life. He is survived by two daughters, Linda Emery of St. Petersburg, Fla., Judy Doss of Gulfport, Fla.; two sons, Allen of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Ralph of North Fort Myers, Fla.; five grandchildren; his mother, Ida D. Auer of South Bend, two brothers, Don F. of Mishawaka, and Richard J. of Dowagiac.
He was a member of St. Joseph Masonic Lodge 45, and he was past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 624. He was a World War II Army veteran.
