MISHAWAKA - Don F. Auer, 68, of Forest Avenue, died at 4 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, after an illness. retired in 1990 as a laboratory analyst from Miles Inc.. Elkhart.
He was born Jan. 25, 1925, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.
On June 19, 1948, in South Bend, he married Madeline Griffith. She survives with a daughter, Susan Auer of Mishawaka; a son, Robert of Pembrooke Pines, Fla.; a grandson; a sister, Evelyn Connors of South Bend; and a brother. Richard of Dowagiac.
He was a veteran of World War II and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Roseland.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Hahn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Joseph County Inc. or Harris Prairie Church of Christ, Granger.
