M. Jane Barnhart Wilson
Dec. 5, 1929 - June 26, 2000
Mabel Jane Wilson, 70, of New Road in South Bend, Ind., passed away suddenly on Monday, June 26.
She was born on Dec. 5, 1929, in South Bend, to Tomkins and Wilma (Feaser) Barnhart. In 1951, as Mabel Jane Barnhart, she married Eugene Wilson.
Mabel was a 1948 graduate of Riley High School. She attended Franklin College and was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority. She enjoyed the time she spent with her bridge club, among other activities. Mabel will be best remembered for her devotion to her family. She was a loving wife, mother and sister, and a devoted grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Eugene Wilson of South Bend; three sons, Michael Wilson of Churubusco, Ind., Mark Wilson of Osceola, Ind., and Matt Wilson of South Bend; one daughter, Cheryl Wilson of South Bend; one brother, Tomkins Barnhart, Jr., of Bremen, Ind., three nieces Susan Goss of Tucson, Ariz., Nancy Horvath of South Bend and Cheri Kucela of South Bend; and by 11 grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 30, in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today in the funeral home, located on Ironwood and Jefferson.
Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mabel Jane Wilson to the American Cancer Society.
