Beverly J. (Dierbeck) Lawson

September 19, 1933 ~ December 20, 2025

Beverly J. Lawson, of South Bend, passed away peacefully on the early morning of Saturday, December 20, 2025, in her home surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 92.

Beverly was born on September 19, 1933, in South Bend, to the late Ralph and Violet (Snyder) Dierbeck.  She was a lifetime resident to the area. On July 4, 1952, in South Bend, she married Bill J. Lawson, who preceded her in death on May 31, 1992.  She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael Lawson and by a sister, Patricia Abell.

Beverly was a supervisor with the Bureau of Motor Vehicles for 30 years.  She co-owned, along with her husband Bill, a beauty/barber shop on Lincolnway West in South Bend for many years. She belonged to the American Business Women’s Association and the Red Hat Society.  She was also very active in the Republican party.  In her spare time, Beverly enjoyed working out in her garden and baking delicious goodies.  She was a natural on the dance floor and loved to dance.  She also enjoyed camping out with family sleeping under the stars.  Most of all her favorite place to be was the moments spent with her family.

Beverly is survived by her daughter, Lisa M. Lawson (Dan Carr) of South Bend.  She was a loving grandma to Trent Lawson and Kelli Abbiehl and a great grandma to Violet, Eddie and Lincoln.  She is also survived by her sister, Nancy Herczeg of South Bend and by her brothers, Jim Dierbeck of Illinois, and Jeff Dierbeck of South Bend.

The family is following Beverly’s wishes to be cremated.  There will be a celebration of Beverly’s life on January 10, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the Hanley and Sons Funeral Home, 23421 S. R. 23, South Bend, IN  46614, where friends may visit with the family from 1: 00p.m.to 3:00 p.m.  

The Hanley and Sons Funeral Home “Southwest Chapel” is assisting the family with arrangements and wishes to extend our sincere condolences to all of the Lawson’s family and friends.
