With hearts full of both sorrow and gratitude for the time we shared, we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, and aunt Erica Thompson, who left this world peacefully on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the age of 48.

Born on May 7, 1977, Erica came into this world already wrapped in strength the daughter of Dustin Scott Thompson and Donna (Nevins) Williams. Born with spina bifida, she faced a lifetime of physical challenges with unmatched grace and unshakable courage. Through countless surgeries and hospital stays, she never lost her spirit or her deep love for life’s simple, beautiful moments.

Erica had a quiet, radiant joy about her—often expressed in her favorite color, purple, and her unwavering affection for cats. She loved to travel, especially to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, where the mountains met her soul and filled her with peace. But no matter where she went, Erica’s truest destination was always the hearts of those she loved. These were more than just preferences; they were small joys that painted her days with light.

A gifted creator, Erica found joy in making the world around her more beautiful. Her hands crafted countless greeting cards, memory books, pieces of art, and home décor that touched everyone lucky enough to receive them. Each creation was a labor of love—a piece of her generous spirit wrapped in color, care, and thoughtfulness.

Erica’s greatest love was her family. She held them close in everything she did and carried them in her heart through all of life’s seasons. Her niece and nephews held a special place in her world, and she in theirs. She was their cheerleader, their artist, a source of jokes, and laughter.

Though our hearts ache with her absence, we are endlessly grateful for the lessons she taught us about resilience, joy, creativity, and love. Erica’s legacy is stitched into every card she made, every memory she captured, and every heart she warmed.

She is deeply loved, and she will be dearly missed by her mother Donna Williams and husband Tim; sister Nichole Keller and husband Ryan; niece and nephews Noah, Gretchen, and Reid Keller; grandmother Patsy Williams; father Dustin Thompson; brothers; Jordan and Jared Thompson; paternal grandparents: David Thompson and Mima Thompson.

She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents: Shirley Nevins and Eldon and Evelyn Nevins.

We would welcome you to come celebrate Erica’s life on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Lawson Miller Chapel, in Brazil, Indiana. Services will be held at the funeral home, on Saturday, at 2:00 PM with Pastor Lee Reberger officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.

Until then, we honor her by holding one another close and remembering the beauty she brought into our lives.
