VALPARAISO Victor A. Lochmandy, of Valparaiso, passed away, Thursday, October 21, 2004, in Phoenix, AZ. Born in South Bend, Indiana, son of the late Michael and Velma Horvath Lochmandy. He was a resident of Valparaiso for 38 years, married Florence Herbst on June 22, 1946, in Los Angeles, CA.

A World War II veteran serving in the Army Air Corps for 5 years, he led the B29 Squadron E of the 421st Bomb Group of the Army Air Force and was eventually stationed in the Philipine Islands. Former co-owner of Lochmandy Buick of Valparaiso, a member of St.Paul Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Valparaiso Council #738 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Fr. Sorin Assembly.

Survived by three daughters, Sandra (the late Roger) Tomporowski of Arlington Heights, IL Teri (Steve) Sibal of Troy, MI and Janice L. Neal of Scottsdale, AZ; two grandchildren, Mark Tomporowski and Kristen Sibal.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence, two brothers, Michael and Al Lochmandy.

Funeral service Saturday, October 30, 2004, 11 a.m. Mass at Queen of Apostles Chapel at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1855 West Harrison Blvd., Valparaiso, Rev. Robert Naglich officiating. Entombment, Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. Visitation Saturday, at St. Paul Catholic Church 10 am until time of Mass at 11 am. Arrangements made with Dykes Funeral Home, 2305 N. Campbell St., Valparaiso, 219-462-3125
