Bruce Eric Taylor
January 12, 1948 ~ November 30, 2025
Bruce Eric Taylor, 77, passed away on November 30, 2025, in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina.
Born on January 12, 1948, Bruce graduated from Riley High School in 1965 and went on to earn an Associate degree in Environmental Health from the University of North Carolina. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1969.
Bruce had a deep love for animals and was passionate about rescuing them throughout his life. He also enjoyed restoring and refurbishing furniture, often bringing new life to old pieces. In his younger years, he found joy in fishing, hunting, playing darts, and collecting antiques and vintage radios.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Taylor; daughters Stephanie A. Taylor (Shavon Taylor) and Becky S. Garza; son Mark A. Taylor (Ann Taylor); stepdaughters Tonja A. Upshall (Robert) and Misty-Lynn Caseley; and stepson Logan Lee Tomkins (Lesia). He had multiple grandkids and great-grandkids he was proud of. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maxine and Robert Taylor.
A military service will be held in North Carolina to honor Bruce’s service on December 9th. An additional service will take place in Mishawaka, Indiana, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any animal shelter or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation—causes close to Bruce’s heart.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
