Howard T. Franklin III

SOUTH BEND - Howard Thomas Watford Franklin III, 20, of 208 N. Blvd. de la Paix, died at 6:14 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph's Medical Center after an illness. Mr. Franklin was employed by Electro Transpo Systems.

He was born Nov. 15, 1970, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Arlene and Bobby Higgs of South Bend; his father, Howard Jr. of South Bend; seven sisters, Safiya Franklin, Dana Franklin, Pamela Franklin, Octavia Franklin,  Nakeya Franklin, Sherry Franklin and Tiffany Franklin, all of South Bend; nine brothers, Erick, James, Timmy, Corey, Frederick, Marcus, Yaree, Larry and Thomas, all of South Bend; maternal grandfather, Wallace Franklin of Chicago; and paternal grandmother, Sarah Watford Smith of South Bend.

He attended Riley High School.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Lake Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today in Clark's Funeral Chapel.
