Sandra Leile Reed

November 23, 1939 ~ May 12, 2025 (age 85)

Sandra L. (Brecht) Reed, 85, a lifelong resident of South Bend passed away on Monday May 12, 2025, at her home.

Sandra was born on November 23, 1939, in South Bend to the late Carl and Bobbie (***) Brecht.

Sandra attending Northwestern University and Indiana University, earning a bachelor’s degree.

She married Thomas E. Reed on August 6, 1960, in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, sharing 47 years of marriage before his passing in 2008.

Sandra was a fan of IU basketball and loved animals.  She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and will be sorely missed.

Sandra is survived by her sons; Christopher J. Reed of Mishawaka, Kevin P. Reed of South Bend and Robert “Randy” Reed of South Bend as well as her grandchildren; Kiersten, Madison, and Carson and her brother, John (Jackie) Brecht.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her son, Tom Reed Jr.

In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held.  She will be interred at Southlawn Cemetery in a private ceremony at a later date.
