In Memory
Jacqueline "Jackie" Kay Myers
August 1, 1951 ~ May 19, 2025 (age 73)
Jacqueline “Jackie” Kay Myers, a cherished soul and beacon of warmth, passed away at the age of 73 in the comforting embrace of Raclin House at 2:41 am on Monday, May 19, 2025. Born on August 1, 1951, in South Bend, IN, Jackie's life was a testament to the power of love and the enduring strength of the human spirit.
An alumnus of Adams High School, Jackie's formative years were spent pursuing academic excellence, which laid the foundation for a life characterized by wisdom and grace. Jackie’s light shone brightly within the South Bend community, where her positive presence was felt by many. From her early days as a high school sweetheart alongside her beloved husband Wayne E. Myers, who preceded her in death on February 10, 2008, Jackie's love story was one of enduring devotion.
Throughout her journey, Jackie managed to create a sanctuary of joy for her family. Although she was preceded in death by her parents Telford and Ruth Funnell, and siblings Betty, Larry, Donald, and Beverly Jean, as well as her son Chad W. Myers, her legacy is carried forward by her son Zhane Myers. Zhane's life is a living tribute to her boundless love and the values she instilled.
She often times took him out of state to see Razakel and others. She was thrilled when she got to meet Razakel. She was a stubborn, sassy yet sweet, ornery lady. She treated her son's friends like her own kids. She loved all of her nephews and nieces as well! Jackie loved dachshunds, sitting on her computer talking to friends, and playing her computer games.
In honor of Jackie’s life, a private burial will take place at Olive Cemetery in Elkhart at a later date. Palmer Funeral Home – River Park Chapel, is providing compassionate assistance to the family during these arrangements.
As the sun sets on Jackie's journey here on earth, her spirit ascends, leaving behind a legacy etched in the hearts of all who knew her. While Jackie may no longer walk among us, her luminous essence will illuminate our paths forevermore.
