SOUTH BEND - Daniel R. Lower, 65, of South Bend, IN, passed away peacefully at 1:55 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, at Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 24, 1949, in South Bend, IN, to Boyd and Helen (Fields) Lower.

On May 22, 1976, in South Bend, IN, he was united in marriage to the former Debra A. Wernsing. Mr. Lower is survived by his wife, Debra A. Lower; three daughters, Jennifer (Jonathan) Thomas, Heather Lower and Tara Lower, all of South Bend, IN; four grandchildren, Andrew, Jonathan, Jalen and Reece; and sister, Kathy (Shellie) Rose of Mishawaka, IN.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Moetta Lower.

Mr. Lower was a lifelong resident. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was a collector for CoinMach Corporation. Mr. Lower was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be dearly missed.

A Memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2014, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family after 2:30 p.m. Friday prior to the services. Private burial will be at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Contributions in memory of Daniel R.
