Duane E. “Pete” Radican
Duane E. “Pete” Radican, 61, of 407 S. 27th St., died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the emergency room at Memorial Hospital, after suffering an apparent heart attack while at the American Legion Post 303.
He was employed for 18 years with AM General in the shipping and receiving department. Born Aug. 6, 1925, in Mishawaka, he was a lifetime area resident.
Surviving are a daughter Melanie Radican at home; a son Kevin of South Bend; two sisters, Marilyn Dvorak of Mishawaka and Rosemarie Yoder of Lakeville; and five brothers, Roger of Edwardsburg, Norman of South Bend, James of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., John of Cassopolis and Robert of Bremen.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Hollis-Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 303, where he was serving as a trustee and was a past commander. He was also a member of VFW Post 1167 and was a World War ll Navy veteran.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
