Lisa Tateoka

Lisa Tateoka Coulter 1960 ~ 2010 Lisa Tateoka Coulter passed away peacefully on March 7, 2010, following a courageous battle against breast cancer.Lisa was born in Murray, Utah, on November 1, 1960 to Tom and Fumi Tateoka. She lived in Riverton, Utah and graduated from Bingham High School. She attended Utah State University where she earned a BS and MS in Communication Disorders. She was a speech pathologist in the Jordan School District for a few years and then moved to Reno, Nevada, where she worked in the Washoe School District. Lisa truly enjoyed working with the children and her co-workers. She married Derek Coulter on August 10, 1985. She was later divorced. Lisa received great contentment and joy spending time with her family, beloved dogs, Miko and Yoshi, and her wide circle of friends. She also enjoyed playing tennis with many of her friends. Lisa is survived by her parents, Tom and Fumi Tateoka, Riverton Utah. Two brothers: Douglas, Brentwood, CA; and Robert, Draper, UT; sister Susan (Craig) Miya, Hillsboro, OR; nieces and nephews: Kelly Crisologo, San Ramon, CA, Tawny Sykes, Cornelius, OR, Blake Miya, Portland, OR, and Robert Tateoka, South Jordan, UT; one great niece, Taijah Sykes, and three great nephews: Garret Crisologo, Tarrin Sykes, and Oliver Tateoka. Lisa will be greatly missed, but will be remembered in all of our hearts for the beautiful and talented person she was. Lisa donated her corneas to the Corneal Bank. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the  of Utah in memory of Lisa Coulter. A celebration of Lisa's life will be held Thursday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 So. 2200 W. Inurnment Fri. 11 a.m. at the West Jordan Cemetery 7800 S. 1300 W.
