Betsy was born Elizabet J. Balchum (not Elizabeth) on October 21, 1954 in Colorado. She passed away on December 22, 1970 in Los Angeles. She did not graduate from SPHS but passed away in her junior year at the age of 16. If you have any more information please forward it.

Betsy and I were best friends kindergarten through 5th grade. We drifted pretty far apart after that. We were in brownies and girl scouts together, played in the orchestra, and both loved cats. In fact, I remember that we created a "cat club" when we were in elementary school.I remember that both of her parents were doctors and that she and her sister, Amy, were named after characters in Little Women. She lived on Garfield.

Psalm 84:2-3 Eternal rest, grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the soul of Betsy and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. How sad it makes me to know that she died at such a young age.
