Marie Chmura Olsen, age 69, of Sayreville, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in South River, she had resided in Sayreville since 1964. Before her retirement, she was employed in the floral department of Pathmark in Marlboro. Marie was a floral designer for many years working at Home Side Gardens, Singer's Flower Shop and Country Work Bench, as well as working for Johnson & Johnson Chickapee Division in Milltown. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Victories Roman Catholic Church, Sayreville.
She was predeceased by her husband, Wesley R. Olsen, in 1999, and her parents, Stanley and Mary Chmura. Surviving are her siblings and their spouses, Florence and Fred Kulesa of Parlin, Leon and Clair Chmura of East Brunswick, and Dorothy and Jim Suskevich of South River, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m Friday, January 8 at the Maliszewski Memorial Home, 121 Main Street, Sayreville. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, January 9 from the funeral home, followed by a 9 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Victories R.C. Church, Sayreville, with burial to follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Sayreville.
