Joseph Knoblock

Joseph M. Knoblock, age 70, of South River passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011 at his home.  Born in New Brunswick, he has resided in South River most of his life.  Before his retirement in 1992, he was employed as a laser tachnician for Spectra-Physics Lasers Inc in Piscataway for 26 years.  After his retirement he worked for the Borough of South River in the Water Department for several years.  Mr. Knoblock was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Bay of Pigs, was a member of the South River American Legion Post 211 and South River Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post 1451.  Joseph was an avid hunter and fisherman enjoying the outdoors and was a car enthusiast.

He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph A. and Helen T. Knoblock.  Surviving are his children and their spouses, Richard and Angela Sehein of New Egypt and Sharon and Michael McCarthy of Jackson, his grandchildren, Taylor, Gia, Andrew and Collin, his brothers, Richard Knoblock of Lawrenceville, GA, and Robert Knoblock of Monroe Township and his niece, Janine and nephews, Richard and Brian.

Funeral services were held at the Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Ave., South River, NJ, with burial at New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.  Donations in Joseph's name may be made to the local chapter of Disabled American Veterans.
