Linda was born in 1957 in Oakland County, Michigan, where she lived most of her life. She was one of three children, having both a brother and a sister. Linda married Gary Mazade after graduation and moved to Idaho, but they subsequently divorced in 1980, when she returned to Michigan. She was remembered by one of her teachers as very athletic. She played on the women’s basketball team during her senior year at SCS and also coached her church softball team for several years. After graduation, Linda joined the Farmington Hills Police Department, which was her favorite job. In her final months she enjoyed training Airedale therapy dogs which gave her a lot of joy. One of the dogs was used at Oakland County Nursing Facility, which she found highly rewarding. Lynda passed in 2004 after a lengthy illness. She had a partner, Lynnda, whom she’d been with for 25 years. She was interred at her church, St. John’s Episcopal Church in Royal Oak, Michigan. Linda’s senior class verse, found in the yearbook, was I Corinthians 2:9, “No mere man has ever seen, heard or even imagined what wonderful things God has ready for those who love the Lord.”
