Jill Jarvis Olsen

Mark went to the Tech on a rodeo scholarship for two years and I went for one year on an academic scholarship then were married in 1980. We lived on the Olsen farm, Mark worked with the sheep and a Steel Fabrication shop. In 1988 we moved to Hurricane, working for the same fabrication shop and he still works there today.

We have been involved in about everything our kids did, which only makes the fact that we are officially empty-nesters, that much harder to accept. Luckily we still love each other so that's good, but we do miss our kids. We actually look pretty pathetic as the only parents sitting in the stands watching Jarvis play old-man softball!

Mark still runs sheep 'on the side' and I'm still doing crafts and I've started piecing quilts.

We've been fortunate to be able to travel some and we've picked both our sons up from their missions, although El Salvador and Argentina aren't exactly the safest places to go, or travel hot spots, we sure enjoyed our trips there.

I work as a school secretary at the Juvenile Detention Center here so if your kids get into real trouble in Washington County, I may get to meet them!
