Rodney Blackburn VIEW PROFILE

Rodney died August 8, 1998 in an accident up Springville canyon.
Rodney's life was cut short but while alive he lived life to the fullest! He enjoyed snowboarding, golfing, boating, fishing and wakeboarding. He also loved spending time with his children and family. If his daughters were playing on the trampoline, or in the sandbox or even running through the sprinklers, Rodney was right there playing with them. For Halloween Rodney not only took his daughters out trick-or-treating he dressed up with them.
Anytime the family got together Rodney would start a water fight. You knew that if Rod was going to be there that you would be soaked by the time you went home. It didn’t matter your age young or old you were getting wet!
Rodney loved to cook and try out new recipes. If he was eating out or at someone’s house he would let you know how he could improve the recipe. He was always trying to one up his mother in law Judi and they would often go the rounds about who was the better cook.
Rodney is missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him!

Rodney is survived by two daughters, Cassie and Madysen and wife Lori.

I was very saddened to hear of Rodney's passing. I grew up with Rodney. We were in the same ward at church and I have fond memories of that time. Rodney was a precocious kid. We were definitely the sunday school class no one wanted to teach, lol. However he always made my Sunday's interesting and never dull. I remember him hating his eyeglasses and burying several pair in his backyard, much to the frustration of his parents. We use to play basketball in the cul-de-sac between the Blackburn's and the Hjorth's house.

Rodney was a riot! I played city league baseball with him when we were young. We called him "pack mit" because of the way he caught fly balls (making pacman-type motions before making the catch). Always a laugh and good to be around.
