Linda Darlene Anderson Delon was born March 25, 1963 and passed from this world on Sept. 19, 1986. She was struck by lightning and died from her injuries. She was married to Robert (Kenny) Delon of Spencer, TN.
As I recall, Linda was nice to everyone. She was very smart but not prideful or arrogant about it. Linda was just an all around sweet girl and I thought a lot of her and was crushed when I heard of her death. One of the fondest memories of her was on her wedding day. She was so happy! One of the last memories of her was having a bachlorette outing for another one of our classmates. Wonder who that was???!!!! Such a fun time and among the best times of my life. Anyway, I still think of Linda from time to time. She will always be remembered as the Valedictorian of the Class of 1980. Linda, on this 30th reunion celebration-----we honor you. --------------Vickie Rowland
Linda was a dear, dear, friend. We were very close I felt like her mother many times. She would always call me when she was lonely at college. One night (before cell phones!!!!!) she called me it was late and she was calling from a phone booth. She was alone and said she felt scared and wanted to talk so we talked for over an hour. I did the flowers for her wedding, and shared many good times with her. She would baby sit for me often. When I left Mr John Cleary, Attorney and went to work at Citizens Bank she became his secretary and then we were able to have lunch together and talk daily. The day Linda died I spoke with her when she was leaving and going home. She wanted to do something that weekend so we planned to get together. The last thing she said to me was I love you. I am devistated that she is gone and I think of her each and every day. Linda was humble, loyal and a very good friend. I am to this day thankful for our converstation we had minutes before she died. Friends Forever.
