50th Class Reunion!

YUP!!! IT HAPPENED--OUR 50TH MHS CLASS REUNION!!!

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2019.  PRETTY MUCH STANDING ROOM ONLY!  IF YOU COULDN'T COME, WE MISSED YOU!!!

By all accounts, our 50th high school reunion gathering at Twigs Wandermere, Saturday night, September 21st, 2019 was everything a half century reunion should be and more.  Here are many of the words I heard from dozens of people to describe it that night: Electric. Powerful in its significance to all.  Loving.  Kind.  Fun.  Surprising at the huge turnout.  Delightful to see people who'd never been to a reunion before!  Nostalgic.  Sweet.  Forgiving.  Friendly. Humbling.  Blessed.  Hilarious.  Like turning back the clock for several hours in time.  

This photo is one of the few class photos captured by a spouse.  Yes, like one student astutely observed, it was like "herding cats" just to get everyone to hold still long enough for one nano-second shot. And I think about 10 or more opted to not be in the shot.  Sheesh, now you all get to see what we must have looked like to our poor teachers trying to get our attention 

Look to the top upper left of your screen at the pale yellow column.  The top "department" is now labeled 2019 50TH REUNION!!!!  It includes more photos of the reunion donated by classmates.

Yes, you have to hit the "join" button to "join" but the interaction is all private even though it WILL show up on your FB feed--but no one but members can see it.  Yes, also, some spouses, widows and widowers of classmates and "guests" and teachers are in our group as well.  Please join us there at Mead High School Class of 1969 on FB.   (Find it in your FB search box under those exact words.  This link MAY take you to it (but am not sure because it is a private group).

If not a member, look for the "join" button.  And, IF we do not recognize your name (like a married name, etc) we WILL follow up with questions.  We only allow people in whom we can identify. 

PS:  Through class donations, we raised enough money to pay for 15 more years of our website!  Thank you all! 

PLUS:  A reminder to all, if anyone wants to do another reunion?  You are in charge.  In case you didn't get the memo, reunion organizers are now officially REUNION-RETIRED.  Mary Laws Reno encouraged anyone who wanted to to have "POP-UP REUNIONS" any time you want.  We can make announcements of it through this website.  For instance: Some of the gals are talking about resuming the gal-lunches from a decade ago.  I'm guessing the guys might want to do something similar?  Or, say, someone wants to just put on a gathering at a restaurant ANYTIME, let us know and we'll send out the notice.  THAT's what this website is for.  (For inspiration?  The MHS Class of 1970 has a no-host monthly gathering at random restaurants with no RSVP needed.  10 to 20 show up and have a great bonding time regularly.)
