BROOKS, Kathleen Carnes

Kathleen "Kathy" Carnes Brooks of Parker, TX passed away peacefully on July 6, 2016 in Dallas, TX surrounded by her family. She was born in Palo Alto, CA on October 9, 1963. She grew up in the Pacific Northwest where she loved the outdoors, white water rafting, running rivers, and camping. She graduated from Shadle Park High School in Spokane, WA and The University of Washington in Seattle.
She moved to Texas to pursue her Masters degree at University of Texas-Arlington. She married Jack Brooks on January 7, 1995 in Mesquite, TX.
She is survived by her husband Jack (Parker, TX) and two daughters Brandye Brooks (Lubbock, TX) and Arielle Brooks (Austin, TX); her parents, Kay Carnes of Spokane, WA and Malcolm (Mac) Carnes of Idaho Falls, ID; her sister Lisa Smith of Spokane, WA; her brother and sister-in-law Michael and Claire Carnes of Portland, OR; three nieces, Darby and Kylie Smith (Spokane) and Mackenzie Carnes (Portland); and her two Golden Retrievers, Atlas and Luna.
In lieu of flowers, her wish would be for donations to Golden Retriever Rescue of North Texas (Dallas, TX).
The family expresses deep gratitude for those who lovingly offered prayers and support.
