Susan Lynette (Gerow) Hoeft, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on Monday November 25, 2019 at the age of 57. Susan, a graduate of Shadle Park High School in Spokane, Washington, was born August 7, 1962 and was the youngest of four. Susan married Kevin, her loving husband of almost 36 years, on December 24, 1983. They would travel the world and raise four children: Justin, Nick, Joshua and Travis. In their travels, Susan and her family lived in Mountain Home, Idaho; Forsyth, Montana; Clovis, New Mexico; Lakenheath, England; Warner Robins, Georgia; Kollweiler, Germany; Dothan, Alabama; Hepner, Oregon and Benton City, Washington. The life of a military spouse is not an easy one, and Susan often played the role of mother and father for their children. During her time in Warner Robins, she became known as the neighborhood mom. It was a common sight for her to have 10-12 teenage boys in her house. She loved unconditionally and always encouraged people to be the best version of themselves. Susan had an artistic talent, visible by the blankets she made that wrapped snuggly around new born babies, cakes she created from scratch that commemorated birthdays, promotions and retirements, and wreaths that decorated doors around the globe. Susan loved flowers, her favorite being sunflowers, which was her first and only tattoo that she got around her 40th birthday on the inside of her right ankle. Susan was preceded in death by her parents Alyce and Nick, and her brothers Jerry and Keith. She is survived by her sister Sandy; her husband; four children; and four grandchildren, Colden, Hunter, Garin and Dylan. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, to allow friends and family to mourn and celebrate her life. Susan passed surrounded by her family and will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.
