Karen Marie Smith (Welter, Wilson) Karen was born on December 20, 1945, in Spokane, WA, and passed away on December 27, 2022, in Spokane, WA. She graduated from Lewis & Clark High School in 1964. Karen had a devoted love for Jesus, a love for her family, her potted flowers every spring, and her pets she had throughout the years. She volunteered for many years at her church. She loved her church family very much. She took classes earning her a degree from Moody Bible Institute in Biblical Extended Studies. Karen lived her adult years by her favorite verse Psalm 138:8 (NKJV) "The Lord will perfect that which concerns me, Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands." Karen was a daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandma, great-grandma, aunt, and friend to so many. She was dearly loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed. Karen is survived by her husband Dennis Smith, her sister Donna Schaaf and her brother, Warren (Karen) Wilson. Her two sons Brian Welter and Brad Welter (Melinda). Her twenty-one grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and her numerous nieces and nephews. Karen was preceded in death by her mother Kathleen "Kay" M. (Wilson) Cornelius, her father Wayne W. Wilson and brother, Wayne R. Wilson, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Please join us on January 21, 2023, at 1:00 PM to celebrate the life of Karen at *ONE, 6311 E. Mt. Spokane Park Drive, Mead, WA 99021.

Richard Gary Lambert

I knew Karen well in high school but have not seen her since. She was a sweet and kind person. It is sad to be losing so many classmates.
