I knew Randy for a few years before high school, but really got to know him in the summer of 1967. The day we graduated, Benny Lawson had a party at his parents house. From that night on, Randy, Benny, Dale Kegley, Rex Austin, Pat Payne, Gary Hartle, Jan McHenry (NC 68), and I spent at least a part of every day together for the rest of the summer. It was a memorable, life changing summer and I will always have a special place in my heart for those guys and that summer. Randy was a lot of fun and a great friend. I am sad to hear of his passing.

I have fond memories of Randy.  We went to Salk Jr High together and meet up at Patersons Roller Rink with Don Morse.  Randy was a great skater.  I used to walk home with him from Salk and we were friends in High School.  A great little guy.  Thanks for the memories Randy.

Randy and I went to Linwood Elementry and ran togeather in the 400 yd. relay at the 6th grade all school track meet. We were good friends after High School and shared many happy times before he went to Viet Nam. I saw him last in  Aug. 2005. To borrow from Dan above Randy, Benny Lawson, Rex Austin, Pat Payne, Gary Hartle, Jan McHenry (NC 68), Dan McKinney and I spent at least a part of most every day together the summer of 1967.

I am truly sorry to see that Randy has left us. What guy he was. As Dan and Dale have mentioned the summer of 67 has a special spot in my memories. One particular time was at a party at Bennys that summer. Little Randy and BIG Tim McClean had a beer guzzling contest. We had bought several gallon jugs of beer for the party. Randy and Tim challenged each other to a guzzling contest. And dam, wouldnt you know that big Tim passed out way before little Randy did. What an amazing guy.
