Vickie Mitchell (Neely)

This post is from Bill Neely:

Keith was my best friend for nearly 60 years - ever since we ran track together in high school. Keith was a pole vaulter which skill he also used on the University of Richmond track team. After college Keith enlisted in the Army at the rank of lieutenant and he was assigned to the 82d Airborne division where he trained as a Ranger paratrooper. Keith next became an Army helicopter pilot and he rose through the ranks to command a helico[ter batallion at the rank of Lt. Colonel.

After Keith retired from the Army he taught Latin & the classics in Florida public schools for about 10 years and he then retired a 2d time.

Then, upon my retirement as Spotsy CA in 2016, Keith & I became travel buddies - taking Viking cruises together in Europe & the US with our wives. Keith was a great travel companion since he was already well traveled due to his Army posts all over Europe and he was always ready for another fun, adventure.

Keith always made a point of keeping in touch with me over our long frendship and we always caught up over long lunches when he returned home to Spotsy to visit his family here.

Vicke & I will miss him dearly...
