Tyrone R. Nixon was born on December 30, 1960, in Suffern, New York. His parents are Verdell and Nathaniel Nixon. Tyrone spent his childhood and much of his adult life in Spring Valley, New York. He was raised as a member of the First Baptist Church. About 10 years ago, he relocated to the Albany area and resided there until he passed away on February 14, 2009. During his younger and teen years, Tyrone was considered a star, and he excelled at sports and academics while attending Spring Valley Senior High School. As an adult, he loved music and writing poetry and earned a living landscaping. Tyrone is survived by his mother, Verdell Nixon of Chesapeake, Virginia; his father, Nathaniel Nixon of Valley Cottage, New York; his brothers, Daryl and Jerome Nixon, as well as his sister, Dianna Nixon; Tyrone is also survived by his son, Tyrone, and his daughter, Brittany, as well as his great grandchildren, Tatyana, Breanna and Arianna and a host of other aunts, uncles and cousins. A viewing will be held on Monday February 23, 2009 at the First Baptist Church, 3 Hoyt St. Spring Valley, NY 10977 from 12-1 PM. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM with his interment to follow at the Brick Church Cemetery, New Hempstead, NY. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Wanamaker & Carlough F.H.
