DAWSON – Sharon L. Van Eman, 82, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026, at her home.

She was born December 29, 1943, to Robert O. and Clara Jane (Wood) Huffman, both of whom preceded her in death. She married James Van Eman in 1962.

Sharon was a 1961 graduate of Lanphier High School. She was an LPN for many organizations, including Morgan County Health Department, Barton Stone, Henry Ross, MD, Lewis Memorial Christian Village, Springfield Clinic and the Department of Specialized Care for Children. She also worked part-time for Sears Department Store. She loved Elvis and animals, especially her dog, Casey.

She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Rae Bartletti and Brenda Van Eman( Nicole Horve); grandchildren, Ashleigh Smith, Britni Beck, Mallori Tremain and Lucas Hendren; great-grandchildren, Gabriel Smith, Micah Smith, Weston Beck, Lochlan Beck, Barrett Beck, Nayomi Hardy, Maci Tremain, Sadie Tremain, Laynie Tremain, Maclaine Hendren and Maeve Hendren; sisters, Susan Huffman and Janet McQuinn; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Estrop officiating. Burial will follow in Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens.
