John Thomas Glisson

John Thomas Glisson, 61, of Springfield, died at 11:10 a.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at his residence.
John was born on January 1, 1961, in Springfield, the son of B. Gary and Katherine (Gibbs) Glisson.
He graduated from Springfield High School in 1980 and played football during his years there. John was a salesman at Bergners for over ten years and worked at Fit Club for ten years. He was a body building contest winner. John enjoyed watching television, sports, especially golf, and loved walking his dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved dog, Eli.
John is survived by his siblings, Gary Glisson, Jenny (Dale McBride) Glisson, Gibbs (Jill) Glisson, and Rick (Wendy) Glisson, all of Springfield; nieces and nephews, Carey (John) Cox of Chaska, MN, Gary (Tami) Glisson, III of Springfield, Matthew Glisson of Springfield, Amy (Jim) Neal of Mechanicsburg, Gibbs (Beth) Glisson, Jr. of Pleasant Plains, Rachel (Andrew) Hansen of Springfield, Melanie (Matthew Krehbiel) Glisson of Denver, CO, Blake Glisson of Springfield, and Alec Glisson of Springfield; several great-nieces and nephews; two aunts, Mary Jean Glisson and Mary Frances Jelliffe; many cousins; many lifelong friends, including Allan Hamilton; and his beloved dog, Sasha.
Cremation was provided by Lincoln Land Cremation Society.
Family will host a Celebration of Life starting at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2022, at Brookhills Golf Club, 5350 Old Jacksonville Rd., Springfield.
