JoAnne Turley

January 9, 1962  -  November 15, 2025

Jo Anne Turley, age 63 passed away on November 15, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to her friends and family. Her gentle presence touched every life she entered, and the impact of her kindness will continue to echo for years to come.

Born in Cuba City, Wisconsin, Jo Anne was the beloved daughter of Mary Anne (Anderson) Burlison and Norman Glenn Burlison. She was one of six siblings. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1980.

Jo Anne spent time working at 1st National Bank until she welcomed her two daughters- Katie Anne and Hannah Elizabeth into this world. She then started her 11 year career at Rochester School district supporting students, staff, and the community with the outpouring of love she had to give. Jo Anne went on to work for SIU School of Medicine as a Medical Staff Coordinator. In every workplace, she was respected, appreciated, and remembered for her integrity and compassion.

Jo Anne was a devoted wife to Jonathan D. Zelle, her partner through life's joy and challenges. Their bond was one of deep love, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to one another.

Jo Anne was a wonderful mother who guided her two daughters with patience, wisdom, and unconditional love. She took immense pride in watching countless sporting events and celebrated her daughter's successes in every stage of their lives.

Her joy only grew with the arrival of her grandchildren, Aubree Anne and Lane Thomas, who brought light, laughter, and immeasurable happiness to her days. Jo Anne cherished every moment spent with them, giving them warmth, comfort, and gentle guidance that only a grandmother can give.

Jo Anne enjoyed sitting on her front porch surrounded by flowers and her hummingbird feeders.

She will be remembered for her compassionate nature and the steady grace she carried throughout her life.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Staab Funeral Home - Springfield. Celebration of life at VFW Hall on Stockyard Rd. from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. All who knew Jo Anne are welcome to attend and celebrate her life.
