Who was your favorite Classical teacher? Why?

My fave was Mr. Louis (?) Tenczar.  He was tough but fair.  I didn't like being in his class because, for the life of me, I could never understand how to properly diagram complex sentences.  Maybe even simple sentences, too! LOL Anyway, one of the things he did to "help" us memorize the list of prepositions was to give us a written quiz every day until every student got 100%.  It took forever.  Does anyone else remember this?  The funny part is that after all these years I remember the first half of the list but the second half is lost in the fog of time.

I have to credit Mr. Tenczar with being a bright and dedicated teacher who took teaching us English very seriously. I truly believe I have a better-than-average grasp of vocabulary and grammar due to his diligence. Still can't diagram sentences, though.
