RE: school Posted Friday, May 1, 2009 12:04 PM Too funny! I keep checking the forum and am glad that we might finally be starting to chat here. Heather Hieronymous said that she had forgotten so many things from those days, but that she was hoping they'd start coming back to her. I must say that I had also forgotten almost everything from high school. I even didn't recognize Shamus Dean when I saw him just a few years ago. He told me his name, several stories about us hanging out most every weekend, etc. So Sorry Shamus!!! Shamus, I do now remember those days. Shame on you, lol! One of the more interesting memories I have is me with Matt Thies, Shamus Dan, maybe Craig Vollmer, and ... a blonde underclassman who was a real sweetheart. We were all in my dad's car as someone's (maybe Shamus') car broke down in my driveway. We were at a Hawaiian Village party with plenty of booze and drugs. I know that we had all been drinking some, but were not wasted. The cops came and busted the party, kids were trying to run across the thin ice covering the lake there and they had a security checkpoint set up. We had Matt Thies drive as he was sober. Unfortunately, he was 14, looked 12 and did not have a license. The silly cop shined a flashlight into the car, questioned us all (I was covered in mud and water from falling trying to get back to the car) and decided that we were sober and legal and good to go. Aside from being thankful at how lucky we all were, I am also thankful that we didn't have more tragedy from all the parties and crazy things we did. If my two boys tried half the stuff that I did... oh my God! They'd be grounded for a year! |

RE: school Posted Thursday, May 21, 2009 10:22 AM I truly feel that I can more easily count the number of days I attended school than the days I missed. I had issues obviously. I hung out more with the class of '87 and '88 so when Senior year was arriving, I was bored. This led to my regret of not really getting to know many people in our class but a blessing being the fact that with my boredom came the realization I would not graduate without getting my head in the game. This brought on summer school and night school to get the credits needed to graduate. |
