Michael W. Menda

Mike's Obituary:

Michael W. Menda, 32, of Richardson, Texas and formerly of Springfield died in Baylor Medical Center, Dallas, Texas.  He was born in Springfield on June 25, 1970 the son of Ronald W. and Dianne (Crothers) Menda.  Michael was a 1988 graduate of Greenon High School and served four years in the United States Navy.  While in the Navy, he attended numerous training schools to become a Navy Air Crewman always graduating at or near the top of the class, and was most proud of completing S.E.R.E. School.  Michael had been working the past two years as a Die Cast Engineer for Sanden International in Wylie, Texas.  He was also an accomplished competitive body builder, who had won several trophies in his classification.  He is survived by his wife, Franchesca (Arndt) Menda and step-son, Ayron of Richardson, Texas; mother, Dianne K. Menda of Springfield; father, Ronald W. Menda of Sarasota, Florida; sister, Deidre K. Menda of Springfield; grandmothers, Bernadine Anderson of Springfield and Virginia Menda of Sarasota; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many good friends, who were special to him.  He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Carlos Anderson and Frank Menda.  Friends may call Thursday from 4-8 p.m. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME.  Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the memorial home with Rev. Orbie Estep officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to "With Arms Wide Open Foundation", 525 East College Avenue, Tallahassee, Florida 32301.  Interment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
