I went into the Marines, USMC right after graduating from High School in 1958. I got my training in Parris Island, SC and went to Camp Lejeune, NC for my 4 year hitch. While I was there I met up with Lee Damon and Jim Chambers.
When and why did your family first come to Springfield?:

My parents lived in Milton, VT and moved to Springfield in 1941. My Dad worked for Balch Trucking Co. on Valley Street in Springfield.

What’s been going on in your life over the past 5 to 10 years or so?

My great granddaughter, Ciarra, who is 11 years old and I do the 3K walk for the blind and impaired (association for the blind). My granddaughter raised $135 and I raised $200 this past year for the Team Louden & Lion Program.

Have you a particular motto/belief that has guided you through life?

Don't give up when trouble besets you. Have faith and you can over come anything troubling you.
